Songs to Download (If ya wanna be Cool)

Here are some good songs broken down into weird categories.

Songs about white kids going to listen to old black men play the blues against the wishes of their parents, and the feelings they have when said black man dies

"The Year Clayton Delaney Died" by Tom T Hall
"The Ballad of Curtis Lowe" by Lynyrd Synyrd

Songs about poor kids making it big as Rock N Roll Singers and then doing a lot of drugs

"Shooting Star" by Bad Company
"Into the Great Wide Open" by Tom Petty

"Rated X" by Loretta Lynn
"Love You Down" by Ready for the World

Songs that have been "banned" somewhere

"The Pill" by Loretta Lynn
"Georgia" by Ray Charles . Song wasnt banned, but Ray Charles was--in Georgia of all places! Now its the state song.
"Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen
Anything by the Dixie Chicks. I like "Travelin Soldier" myself.
Elvis Presley's early hits, when he was known as "The Pelvis" "That's alright Mama" and "Mystery Train" come to mind
"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong Ok, this song wasnt banned but those bastards over at Clear Channel tried to ban it, along with a lot of other good songs, shortly after 9/11. Don't believe me? Here is the link with the list of songs Clear Channel tried to ban.

What about "Elizabeth, I Love You" by Michael Jackson? Huh?

BTW: Stop stealing pictures from other sites. You're stealing their bandwidth and they will come and get you.

Read about hotlinking here: http://www.blogd.com/archives/000634.html

Liz is so smart and helpful. I had no idea about hotlinking or blog "netiquette."

Now I'm just waiting to appear on her blog...

Long time reader. First time commenting.

I have to say that Phil has done a surprisingly good job with his blog. I thought I would see 'Went to work. Took a nap. The dog licked peanut butter off my finger again.' Way to go Phil for keeping it interesting.

As for hotlinking and bandwidth theft, I think Phil is falsely accused. I looked into the situation and while he may be stealing images, the images are all on his blog account. Phil Deskins you are hereby found innocent on all counts and this court offers you our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience you may have suffered. This court is adjourned.
